I did not actually convert a file yet, but the list was much longer than I could have imagined. A person can convert things all day if they use everything.
Thing 25 Letterpop looks good, and there is a free version. The template choices are ample and cover a wide range of subjects. The paid subscriptions seem reasonable for what you get especially for businesses. You can try it out at www.letterpop.com .

I am commenting on my own post. I went back to zamzar and converted a file to a text file. It was emailed to me without any delay. This particular file had a large font and even larger headings. When I converted it to text from pdf, it made it possible to print with less toner. So zamzar gets a thumbs-up on this particular file.
I just finishing exploring Zamzar and tried to convert a file. So far, no email. Maybe I did something wrong -- I'll try again if I never get it. This seems like a fabulous tool to use, especially when I don't have Excel on my computer at home, but use it all the time at school.
